Great news from the online sales world: national e-commerce sales are moving up again. Since 2009 Polish internet sales grow every year by about 25%! Within the last 2 years from € 2.5 to € 5.2 billion in the year 2013. For 2014 € 6.2 billion online sales are forecasted, making Poland the fastest growing e-commerce nation within the EU.
Despite the rapid growth, Polish consumers are not spending large amounts. The average spent online in 2013 per consumer was € 535, which is well below the European average. On top of that, the national internet penetration rate is still low at 65% of the Polish population, the lowest rate for Central Europe.
